pg with number 2 and already have a belly! obviously its not baby, but is it just fat? it's round looking! could it be because dd1 is only 1 and my stomach musecles are still really rubbish, or can some people show this early?

i feel embarrssed as i have another 7 weeks (all being well) of trying to hide it.

I started showing with my first at 7 weeks and with my second before i missed my period, i remember phoning my sister and telling her i was on way to shops to get an early pregnancy test as i was sure i was pregnant. I am a size 10 and 5ft 4in but have shit stomach mucsles, which have got worse since my first baby!!

FoofFighter · 19/12/2012 14:05

bloating, water retention, constipation all account for this, cannot possibly be a baby bump showing (although it can happen earlier with second and more children) because your uterus is behind your pubic bone and only the size of a tangerine or something isn't it?

I am bloated as all heck! I need a good poo Blush

I don't know but I am 11 wks and definitely have a rounded belly. it took me to about 5 months or so to look this big last time. I don't think my stomach ever recovered from dd Shock. I do remember feeling v bloated a few weeks back though so maybe its just that?

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 19/12/2012 14:07

Thank you both. I know it's not baby, but surely it cant just be becaiuse i'm fat? I'm 5ft 9 and a size 10/12 but i do have awful stomach musecles. it's a very definite bump. i know it's not a baby buymp but nonetheless it looks like i'm about 17 weeks pregnant!

what can i do? shall i eat less? exercise? or just deal with the fact i ahve a fat belly? it's only been like this tne last 3 days and is getter bigger!

Just leave it be, nothing much you can do about it, aside from drink lots of fluid to get the digestion moving and that also weirdly helps with fluid retention too. it'll calm down soon enough and then turn into a proper baby bump :)

Shelly you are 11 weeks and would expect to start showing a little by then :)

Well with my first I went on maternity leave and people in the office asked where I was going! I didn't get into mat clothes with ds. I did have to buy some mat trousers with dd but not until I was about 6 or 7 months, so I am a bit shocked to be so big already. Though I am aware that my stomach muscles are non existent now! Am also smaller since I had dd so I am finding the rapid change quite hard.

worsestershiresauce · 19/12/2012 15:49

It isn't fat, it's bloat. I was huge at 8 weeks and smaller at 12. Drink more water, eat plenty of fibre, go for a brisk walk or a swim every day, and wear empire line tops! Pregnancy hormones slow everything down so your bowels are a bit full of rubbish and wind, and that's what the belly is about.

EmpireBiscuit · 19/12/2012 19:26

My guess would be wind - another of the more glamorous aspects of pregnancy huh?!

rogersmellyonthetelly · 19/12/2012 23:43

Well your stomach muscles are pre-traumatised, so any bloat/wind/constipation will pooch out a lot easier than the first time. I was def. visibly pregnant at 5 weeks with my second and third, I think my body just went " oh God not again" and collapsed in the middle.

beckie90 · 19/12/2012 23:55

Showed with my first around 6wk although was bloating, did look rather pregnant, but after that didn't seem to grow really, it just grew into the bloat lol. 2nd didn't even get the bloat or anything, didn't show till 35weeks never grew out of my size 8 jeans. This time I'm currently 7+1 and although I'm not really showing I feel rather wobbly like I've got fluid retention or something xx
