I'm wondering this too. I'm 16wks abs haven't died my hair since before bfp. U keep reading different advice.

I have heard it can be risky, unfortunately I'm allergic to hair dye anyway so cannot dye my hair but allergies are getting more and more common due to the chemicals they use to keep the dye in and lasting longer.

I asked my hairdresser last time I took ds for a haircut and she said it would be fine, but they would do a skin test first. She suggested a semi permanent though rather than full on highlights etc. they have also put their prices up hence me doing it at home instead....

Googling it gives mixed messages too. They all advise not in the first trimester but then are non committal to the rest of the pregnancy....

What colour are you wanting? I've been using pure henna mixed with indigo (from a website called Hennaboy) whilst I've been pregnant. Safe to use with allergies but a bit messy/smelly to apply. My hair has been in fab condition though and it leaves it very shiny. Have only 2 weeks until my due date now so going to reapply this week to make sure I'm not looking too rough when the little one arrives

nhs says its ok. I had mine coloured when I was pregnant with both my children.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I didn't dye my hair during either pregnancy, or for as long as I was BFing. My hair also got much much thicker during the first pregnancy, which is quite common, but then stayed that thick permanently, and since then it's been really difficult to get a dye to stick more than a few weeks. Weird stuff, hair.

I don't dye my hair during pregnancy :) just tryna be safe .. Or maybe I'm just slightly paranoid :)

I'm 23 weeks & used loreal creme gloss last Thursday. I did a skin test 48 hours before as pregnancy can make you more sensitive and I also made sure I was able to leave bathroom door open + went into the bigger living room while the dye settled in order to have as much ventilation as possible.
