I am 45 and unexpectedly pregnant. I'm about six weeks and hope to see my GP this week. Does anyone know when I'm likely to get a first scan? The norm round here is 12 weeks but I'm wondering if my age might mean I get one earlier.

12 weeks unless you have a history or can afford to pay privately.

They may do one around 11 weeks if you go for the predictability of downs testingas that is a blood test and a scan, but wont give you any definitive answers, just probability of abnormailities.
