Tried to google it but it keeps coming up with 3D scans. I dont want a 3d scan i just want to see my baby again. Nearly 13 weeks woukd like one in the next 3 weeks really. How do i go about getting just a normal scan? And does anybdoy have an idea of how much it would cost?

Some NHS hospitals offer a private service even if your local one doesn't. The 3D/4D places may also offer a regular ultrasound (we had one early on to check dates). Also try any private hospitals near you.

I paid 99 quid for a private dating scan at 7 weeks.

Given you're 13 weeks you must have only recently had a scan, and you've got the anomaly scan coming up at around 20 weeks. If you're anxious it's best to discuss these feelings with your midwife rather than keep having unnecessary scans, because the problem is you won't actually feel reassured for long. You'll want another one.

I agree with chub. If you've only just had a scan then having another one isn't going to make you feel any better for any length of time. It's normal to worry a bit and it gets easier once you feel the baby move, but it's best to talk about these feelings and get used to the worry. You'll worry til they move, you'll worry about the 20 week scan, whether they'll be prem, whether birth will be ok, whether they're eating right, developing normally, going to be safe for 2 mins without you..... The list is endless. Motherhood is full of worry and it's really important for your peace of mind that you find a way to cope with it. It made me feel better with my first once I recognised this.

If you have a very specific reason for another scan then try you local hospital website, many of them offer private scan.

Hope you feel better soon. I'm 23 weeks with dc2 with a mc between dcs so I do understand how anxiety inducing this can all be.

At 16wks alot of places offer gender scans which are normal scans, at the place local to me it is £55 the same as reassurance scans, if you type in gender scans you may have more luck on google

Babybond and Nuffield Hospitals do private baby scans. If you just want to see your baby again, I think it is called a reassurance scan. We paid £80 for a gender scan with Babybond about 18 months ago. Babybond seem to set up in health centres out of hours - we went to an ordinary nhs gp centre on a Saturday afternoon.

I used Babybond and had a 2d scan. They have clinics all over the country.
