Hormone rash, itches like fury!

My friend is 13 weeks pg and has what is apparently a hormone rash on her belly which itches like hell. Has anyone else experienced this and know anything that she can put on it?

I had this in my last pregnancy. There are antihistamines that are "safe" to take, I was prescribed them on a particularly itchy Sunday in out of hours. However, in the end, the only thing that did anything was only washing with aqueous cream and lashings of cetreban (along with the reassurance of knowing it was nothing serious).
