Bump size - Should I be worried??

Hi

I want to start off by saying I absolutely love my bump BUT I am starting to get a little worried by peoples reaction to the size of it. I am 21 weeks and I keep getting comments like "wow you are big" and "Are you growing by the day?" etc. I haven't put on much weight anywhere else so I am not taking it too personally but its getting on my nerves now and I feel like a bit of a freak.

I'm now convinced I am going to have a huge baby and I'm wondering how the hell she is going to come out! eeeek.

Help!

I had this and it drove me insane
'ooh are you sure it's not twins'
'gosh you're big'
'look at the size of you'
IM PREGNANT!!!
Urgh. Wish I'd been brave enough to use the old 'did you mean to be so rude'. I'm afraid I don't have thick skin and used to let it really bother me especially when it continued AFTER baby was born
The only thing I found to deter people was to cry Blush that soon stopped them.
Sometimes I don't think people know what to say and it's just the first thing out of their mouths.

Don't worry! Some people just carry their bumps/babies differently than others. With some the baby is just really out there, and with others the baby is more 'inside' the body iyswim. A friend of mine had a TINY bump (I think she was actually getting tired of the opposite comments, people keep saying how tiny she was, obvs made her worried) but when her baby was born it weighed more than mine did (I'd say I had an average bump). Are you having a growth scan at 32 weeks? They might be able to tell you more then.

I guess so although I don't really know much about it (taking each week and scan as they come at the moment!).

I'm not really worried that bubs is abnormally large just more concerned about my bits after pushing her out! ha!

I need to get a thicker skin. :)

Well I'm 32 weeks and had a midwife appointment last week. She took one look at my bump and said "that's a small bump, oh my goodness that is far too small a bump." I had to go straight away to the hospital to have a scan and check that the baby was ok. It was awful. Baby is fine thankfully and growing at the correct weight and height - but just telling you what it's like from the other side.

I don't feel especially small tbh. Just ignore bumpist remarks, Xmas Grin
