Just checking really to see if there are any instances where people had GD with one pregnancy but not with a subsequent one. It's early days for me (5+5) but had GD last time to preparing I might get it again.

Yes, I had it badly the first time and not at all the 2nd. My weight hadn't changed much, 10 stone at start of 1st pregnancy, 10 stone 10 at start of 2nd. Only 20 months between my two.

I had a girl the first time and a boy the second.

Thanks HowTo

Good to hear its at least possible! Did you get tested more than usual with your second pregnancy?

Yes, at 16 and 28 weeks. Both times my blood sugar was below 7. If it had been higher (but not enough for a GD diagnosis) they would have given me monthly tests to see if it kicked in later.

Had it in my first pg but not my second. However so anxious was I to avoid it second time round that I went on a no sugar, low GI diet for three months before we even tried to conceive.

I had one GT test in my secong pg and that was it.
