Movement at 18 weeks - not much should I be worried?

maybe I've been reading too many posts but now I'm starting to worry about lack of movement; I've felt a few bits but not much the last few days. With DD1 (this is DD2) movement started at about 20 weeks - but she didn't move much all pregnancy.
Reassurance/advice?!

18 weeks is pretty early to feel definite movements. I had the odd flutter at that stage but in two pregnancies proper movements didn't start till about 21 weeks.

I thought so - just having one of those worry days x

I wouldn't worry. It could be that the baby is kicking but in a different direction so you're not feeling it.

I am also pregnant with DC2 (21 weeks). DD kicked constantly - from when I felt her first movements she pretty much never sat still - a pattern which continued after she was born. If I lay in bed I could see little hands and feet constantly appearing over the top of the Moses basket and even now at 4 she is always on the go. Even 'quietly' watching TV she fidgets, twists her hands round, swings her feet....

This one moves far far less. Even at the scans, it was sitting in an awkward position and refused to budge even when prodded hard (compared to DD1 for whom measurements were hard 'due to foetal movement' - quoting the report). They sent me off for a large coffee (to squash it and fill it with caffeine and really get it going - very scientific!). It failed - more poking just resulted in it flapping it's arms in an indignant sort of way but not really moving. Both scans. I'm hoping that this means I am due a more peaceful child at the end of it....

Hmmm with DD1 she moved last thing before I went to bed and when I woke up and was quiet the rest if the time. She is a spirited little girl but is quite calm and can sit still for ages. DC2 - or DD2 as we know she is a girl - has been fairly still in both scans - week 12 and 16 (we had extra scan after scare). I just hope she sleeps well

I'm 18+1 with my first, waiting for some big movement as everyone else is having massive movements but me, baby was lying in a crazy position on our first scan at 12+2, and was thrashing about but i have felt tiny movements...
Wish it'd get a move on and show me its there! X

I'm 18+1 with number 2 and I only started to feel little kicks now, my midwife said I could feel from 16 weeks onwards. With dd it was about 22 weeks. I did worry when I wasn't feeling anything tho.

Have they told you where your placenta is? Mine is anterior and so, even at 19 weeks I've only felt one or two tiny things that may or may not be movement. I'm hoping by 22-24 weeks I'm feeling things more regularly.

weeblueberry I think anterior - need to look at HH notes, which are at home while I'm at my mum's.
