I just thought I would share this as my DH just called me from work to say he is now suffering with nausea! and he wanted to check that I was ok.

Anyone elses DH get sympathy symptoms?

Mine has decided to start suffering from acid reflux to keep me company, very annoying!

Have you heard of the winter vomiting bug?

GreatCongas · 12/12/2012 21:22

Does he do competitive illness at all other times?

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 12/12/2012 21:28

Oh I bet he bloody does! Xmas Grin After vomiting continually for 18 weeks he'd get short shrift with me. In fact put him on and I'll tell him!

You're obviously much nicer than me or maybe at 39 weeks I've just got less patience left

My mum had four children.

She often comments that one of her first indicators of being pregnant was my dad coming in from work saying... " jeez, I have awful heartburn, perhaps you ought to do a test!"

He does not suffer with heartburn at any other time!

Tell him to man up and stop being an attention grabbing tit. You are the one who is pregnant and he needs to support you.

WizardofOs · 12/12/2012 21:33

He has couvade syndrome....news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/6751709.stm.

Maybe...

My dad had terrible migraines when my Mum was pregnant with me and ended up in hospital having a lumbar puncture, in the end the Docs told my Mum hed be fine once the baby was born. And any childhood illness I got, he caught ten-fold, including scarlet fever and shingles. When I was away at Uni I phoned home to tell my mum I needed my wisdom tooth out, only to be told 'Your Dads got terrible toothache, he's been off work all week'. Now I'm pregnant I'm just waiting for him to come down with sympathy pain. Although I've told him he's not allowed too unless he stops drinking in sympathy with me too.

Given how well he managed to eat all of dinner I had made and the rest of my plate I couldn't manage I am going to go with option 3 twitchytail

It's a recognised condition ... He may even grow a bump, develop bigger breasts and have painful contractions!!
I've never known anyone have it, but I did know a dog that had a phantom pregnancy.
