Strange bump sensations at 7.5 months

I popped out again recently (one week I'm about 7.5 months pregnant and people didn't reliably notice, the next week people in shops are asking for my due date) and something weird and not completely pleasant has happened. Now that my bump goes all the way up to my breasts, there's a stretch of skin in the middle of what was once my chest beneath my breasts which doesn't have proper sensation. It's kind of numb, like it has gone to sleep somehow, but it's also capable of itching at the same time. Clearly this is a pregnancy symptom and it doesn't appear to be important, but it's definitely annoying and I've never heard of anything like it. Does anybody know what's going on?

Of course, when I went to the dr's it wasn't bothering me and I forgot. It seems to have gotten a bit better anyway. I'm in no risk of leaning into anything by mistake, as wigglebaby is fascinated by anything that touches my stomach and will prod at it until it goes away 90% of the time (great fun when they want to use a doppler to find her heartbeat -- press a little too hard and it's game over as she kicks the monitor).
