a special type of morning sickness

Hi everyone

I found out I am pregnant 1 week ago and am 6 weeks (I had put the missed period down to stress and traveling with work, sickness as travel sickness and aching breasts as the cold weather).

But my morning sickness seems to be a little different and I just wondered if I was normal or anyone else had the same thing.

I am feeling sick but mainly in my cheeks! (like there is a big build up of saliva that I can't get rid of) when I do get a 'sick' feeling in my stomach rather than manifesting itself as vomiting if magically seems of move southwards and I have excess gas and more number 2's.

Does anyone know what I am talking about ............. please!

The excess saliva is a classic pregnancy symptom.

Can't help you on the other end though! But hopefully someone will be along soon .

Pregnancy is sooo much fun! I'm 7 weeks with number 1, and also having weird sickness. It's like sometimes I'll feel sick, like I could actually vomit, a bit like a stomachy hangover that never quite manifests as vomit. Those times, I'm not sick, but will start burping a lot, and sometimes get a rumbling and (eventually) a need for number 2.

Other times, like when I'm walking too fast in the cold (!) or there's a strong smell nearby, I'll get extra saliva and will start retching/heaving and coughing - but there's never any actual sick then either.

It's the weirdest feeling ever. As a rule, the sicker I feel, the hungrier I am (and just hadn't noticed).

So - I think I know what you're talking about! Kinda sucks, huh?

Oh i Get the same feelings ...in fact i have had to buy more loo rolls cos im going number 2 more lol! My mouth keeps filling with saliva and i get very burpy :) oh the joys! This is my forth pregnancy and it is the first one where I have been so hungry i could cry at times!

Thank you, it was one of those things I wasn't sure whether to put or not as it sounds so odd.

I get the extra saliva problem when I am in the cold as well. I was at the football with DH last night and it was freezing and was constantly eating polos (the only thing that stops it) and my breasts were so painful (cold and sore) so trying to subtly warm them without drawing attention to myself.

Saying that I love all these little feelings as they are making it more real.

I had this with ds2. I remember having to swallow a lot and do deep breaths just to stop it turning into full blown vomiting. I also had terrible trapped wind and had to go outside at work to have a really good fart and burp
