39 weeks and just starting to hit me that Dad won't be there with me for our second child like he was with the first. Any tips for coping? Did you find it ease to have pictures around and memories rather than not?

I'm afraid I can't help but am in a similar situation and this has been on my mind these past few days too. I wonder if we'd have more feedback on the bereavement board?

Have you lost your Dad very recently? I'm sorry for your loss. It really does make pregnancy such a bitter sweet experience doesn't it?

My Mum died last Christmas so I'm just coming up to the anniversary at the moment. We also thought we were going to lose my granny last week. The District Nurses came and put in place all the drugs for end of life management and palliative care but, amazingly, she seems to have rallied somewhat. The nurses say maybe she is hanging on to meet the baby, who is due early April, as she is very excited about it. Whether she goes before then, or shortly after, it's going to be pretty devastating either way. I'm concerned that this poor baby has felt a lot more sadness than it should've and it's not even born yet! I'm also scared that I won't be able to grieve properly once I'm busy with a baby. Although I am also really thrilled that I, at least, have something wonderful and positive to focus on.

Personally I have found it really hard to see photos or mementos of my Mum over the last year. I can only get them out when I am feeling either really strong, or really like indulging my grief. I thought I was on reasonably good form this morning until I was going through some stuff and found one of her lipsticks. I've felt on the edge of tears ever since.
