Narrow cots and cot top changers

Our second child is going to be shoved in the box room, so we won't have room for the changing table. I was planning on getting a cot top changer, but I'm a bit stumped. Our cot is 60cm wide but all the changing things to go over the top are around 78cm. Is our cot absurdly narrow? Can you get cot top changers to fit cots this size? I'm getting nowhere with online searches, so thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone can help. Please!

We have a cot top changer ( atleast i think thats what you mean, a changing mat that has a hard botton to it?)from mothercare but never read it was for a particular size, it has plastic studs at one end so once you put it on the far side you can't pull if forward unless you lift it and non on the other so I presume they are a one size fits all iyswim, as long as its bigger then your cot it fits on the top

I have a bad back too and changing on the floor is actually ok.

I wouldn't be able to change on the floor with my back, every one is different and not as capable as others. plus if you have a section you wouldn't be able to do it on the floor!!

Most changers have velcro which attaches to the bed, the one we had for dd moved to fit the bed.

Do you have a cot or a cotbed? i know they are different in sizes.

We have a cot, but a bit of investigative work revealed it's a space saver cot (we bought it 2nd hand without packaging) and is smaller than standard cots.

I change my toddler on the floor sometimes, but it does my back in, so not really an option.

Will look into the mothercare one suggested up the thread too, thanks. We do have a changing unit at the mo, but not going to have enough room with two, barely have enough room in the first's room!

When mine were tiny and needing lots of changes per day I just used to do them on the dining room table on a mat. Keeping all the stuff downstairs was a lot more convenient (especially with DC2 when I had a toddler as well).

What about having the changing unit on the landing or in the bathroom? or even your room?

We have a very small 3 rd bedroom so dd2 nursery draws are in our (very large) bedroom with the unit.

Do you know whether you are expecting a boy or a girl? Only I really wouldn't have fancied changing any of my boys over their cot - let's just say the laundry pile would have gone sky high and they could all easily get jobs as firemen

We already have a boy - hadn't really thought about that, DewDr0p! But that's a fair point.

Skinny, we already have two wardrobes, a chest of drawers and a double bed in our not-that-big room - no way we can fit anything else in there! And our landing is tiny. Basically we need a bigger house!

I've seen the Ikea Spoling folding changing table (not the wall mounted one) and am tempted by that, but have read it may be a bit unstable. Has anyone used one of those before?
