does anyone know what there hcg level was 5/6 weeks after af

Hey, I had my hcg levels took Today as I've had a lot of cramps and slight spotting, my lmp was 5 weeks 5 days ago, after googling I'm concerned my hcg level was too low, so did anyone else know theres at around same time. I have a scan booked for Wednesday x

Beta HCG levels can really vary. What's more important is the rate at which it rises. On average it should double every 48 to 72 hours in very early pregnancy, but this rate will slow down the bigger the number gets. One number on its own doesn't mean a great deal, you really need two a few days apart.

It's really difficult to do but the best thing is to try to step away from Dr Google and wait for your scan. A scan really is the best way to confirm whether you pregnancy is viable.

Yes I've had mine done at this stage and they seemed very low to me.

As KnackeredCow said, it is the rate of rise that is the main thing.

I asked at the EPU when they did the first reading and they said not to panic, the levels vary so much from person to person that the standard tables etc not really any use, they would wait for the second test 48 hours later and know from the rate of rise how things were.

Its horrible having the wait inbetween readings.

Yea I know Google is Satan it wasn't bad it was ok but at like 6wks people was saying it was way higher than what mine is, I know in 2 days when I will be 6wks by lmp it should have doubled. It was 2100 today she said. So looking at around 4000 I hope by Wednesday.Thankyou knackered x

They didn't say anything about another retest :/ just the scan. I'm guessing if they can't see alot they will retest x

Possibly that is a really good thing- they must think it is high enough to definitely see something on a scan- I was told mine was too low yet to bother- so I think that must be a good sign

I was told over 1000 is more likely to see something. But with my 1st ds I had a scan at 5wk according to lmp and hormone level was 1700 I think or 2000 something like that but had my scan and there was nothing there on ultra scan so then they used the internal scan which showed a sac bit nothing else, so had to go back it turned out fine obviously I had another scan 3wks after that x

I had my taken on Friday after bleeding at 5+5 it was 9000... but on my scan sunday they saw a baby with no hb. Got a scan in a week..

How many weeks will you be when you get scanned?

From lmp I'm 6 tomorow which is when my scan is, but I don't think im 6 because I'm pretty sure I ovulated a little later than normal this month as day before af was due i got a neg i then didnt retest till 2 days late which it showed posative, well either that or hormone levels are just low :/ x

Thankyou, they said they think everything is ok cause cervix closed and it was only a few spots of blood and pain has more or less gone now, but just to makesure I'm not excpecting to see anything there tbh as I had 1 with my son at 6week too all they could see was a sac n yolk they said but nothing else went back 2 week later to a lovely heartbeat xxx

I had a scan on Sunday at 5+5 didn't see a hb, so got to wait until Tuesday to go back.. not knowing whats happening is horrible isnt it!

Itl be fine hun my oldest didn't either was prob about the exact same time as you were, he's 4 nowIt is awful I no they Defo won't be a heartbeat tmrow so then Il be panicking lol n getting impatient even though I know what to expect anyway. Good luck for yours chick :) xx

it doesn't matter what it is, it matters how much it has changed in 2 days time!

don't let ANYONE diagnose you based on a single hcg!

Iv only had the 1 took have not had any more they didn't mention taking another one either, so just see what they say today

It's all very strange lol I was there 3hrs had my scan there sayin 5/6wk but they can't see much in the sack yet, then they thought ther was 2 sacs, but now there saying the other 1 looks like fluid. Anyhow after getting all worked up doctor reviewed my scan and said at this early stage she's not concerned, so I've to go back Christmas even wen Il be 7/8 weeks and see if anythings changed i don't feel too posative though :( xx

push for another blood test OP, its wrong of them to only do one x

I'm going to ring back tomorow as im not happy that they havnt checked what was happening with hcg level I was waiting 3hr so it could have been done x

Thats terrible! Did they see a hb? They didn't do my HGC either I was there for 2 hours! Best of luck, make sure you let us no of any changes. Fingers are crossed. X

No there was nothing but a sac, they saying its too early, ds1 was also nothing but a sac at 5.5wks. I must just be strange lol, although read lots online that has put my mind at ease saying its pretty common at these stages, my womb is also rear facing so it makes it hard to see things xx
