I've just had my dating scan and everything looks fine.

I told my manager right after, that part was easy. I've told my immediate colleagues, that part was a bit awkward because I didn't really know how to bring it up but they were all really nice to me. I have to tell my parents when we arrive for Christmas on the 22nd because I want to tell them in person and I won't get to see them before then. And we've just been invited to dinner with my DP's sister and his parents on Saturday. They will all be really pleased and nice but I'm suddenly nervous about it. Also after keeping under wraps for so long it feels like tempting fate to announce it.

Also I hate attention and want to hide .

Leaving it as late as possible for a couple of reasons. First, had a mmc earlier this year and it was totally horrendous un-telling everyone :( and Secondly, my DD gets married early next year so I would rather wait till afterwards so they have all the attention.

A friend of mine didn't tell anyone till around 17weeks, I don't think I can get that far but will be 12 weeks-ish at the wedding so hoping for at least another couple of weeks after that :)

Great news on the scan monal! I've resolved to tell my parents in person on Christmas Day. This will be before scan at 9+2 weeks but I don't often get to see them in person and will really struggle to come up with a decent excuse as to not drinking and/or avoiding the kitchen while food is cooking otherwise.

I'm nervous as hell, but trying to be positive. It's my first, but had an early mc in October, so more cautious than I'd like to be.

FoofFighter DD getting married! That sounds mad! I think it's nice to not steal their thunder, but it may be worth telling some people in advance in case you're not feeling great...

We told close family and friends early on as I was really ill and needed help with ds. I wanted to wait for as long as possible due to a mc at 17wks but its not going to happen.

Once Scan is passed and if everything is ok I will tell ds (age 5) so he understands why I'm so ill all the time. Once he has got his head round it we won't hide it anymore and what happens happens.

Hi I haven't told any family yet, I'm 20 weeks & they live miles away.

I have my scan tomorrow, so will probably tell them after that.

Were planning on telling parents and close friends after our 12wk scan next Thursday. I think it will be a lovely early Christmas present for them as they have no idea we were even trying
