21 weeks pregnant and not put on any weight - like actually none. Is that weird?

I've posted before about this. I'm pregnant with DC2. DC1 is 19 months so I think running around after him is the reason. Was weighed today and haven't put on so much as a pound. I'm slim-ish -around 12 bottoms and 10 top. MW said it's fine but just wanted other's opinions.

With DC1 definitely put on weight by this point!

With DS I'd put on about 3lbs by that point - just changed shape. Currently 26wk pg with DC3 and still in normal clothes albeit with a bump band and a hair-elastic keeping my jeans done up.

I'm refusing to weigh myself, but keep getting comments about how much thinner I look than pre-pregnancy and it is only my bump stopping things fitting, pretty sure I have put on a maximum of 6lbs at 25 weeks, but I was big before hand, so no problems there. I know I am eating less than pre-pregnancy, I get full quick or just have no hunger.

baby takes what they need, our bodies are very efficient, so I'd not worry. Take a vitamin might help, but no reason we should put on weight unless you are underweight to start with.

I'm the same. 21 weeks tomorrow, no weight gain. Haven't gone above the weight I was when I got my BFP. Have list and gained a couple lb but that's it! I put it down to a small appetite - I get hungry but I can't eat that much - and that I changed jobs so I'm now a lot more active than I was when I got pregnant. I'm trying not to think too much about it but am aware I might need to cut the chocolate down in the next few weeks to avoid gaining much!

I put on loads of weight with my first two , But at the end of my third pregnany I weight 6lbs lighter than the start! He was a healthy 7lb12 and I wasnt dieting I think having 2 others to run around just kept the weight from piling on. Im kinda hoping it happens this time round as well but if i put on loads no worries I am growing a baby after all :)

StrawberriesTasteLikeLipsDo · 10/12/2012 16:55

Im 36+2 and have lost 23lb so far this pregnancy. (Medically based reasons) MW and consultant have both said as long as baby is growing and developing on track no cause for concern. Cons exact words were "babies are just like parasites" haha!

fraktion · 10/12/2012 17:00

I didn't put any on until 6 months then I gained 3kg in a month Hmm

worsestershiresauce · 10/12/2012 17:04

I guess it depends on what size you were to start with. If you had a low BMI, and hadn't gained any by this stage that would be a serious concern. If not, and your midwife is happy you are probably ok. Just make sure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals you and the baby need by eating a healthy balanced diet.

I'm 29 weeks and gained a stone. On me that isn't enough really as I have lost weight off my face and arms, so this week I'll be trying to eat a lot more to catch up. My midwife isn't concerned, but I am (the skinny arm/face look isn't a good one!).

MrsHoarder · 10/12/2012 17:06

Don't worry. I'd lost a stone at that point, DS was 9lb5 at birth

Pleasenomorepeppa · 10/12/2012 17:10

I'm 36 weeks & lost weight in the first 20 weeks, dropping a BMI. I'm still lighter now then before I was pregnant.
No one has worried about it as I had a BMI of over 30 when I got pregnant.

Mylittlepuds · 10/12/2012 17:52

Thanks ladies. Just one of those niggling concerns! Glad to hear it's not just me. To be honest I'm hoping not to gain too much if it's healthy as it feels good not to be huge!

I am 22 weeks and have put on 2lb. However by the time I reached 13 weeks I had lost over a stone, I have now put that back on plus 2lb extra. My bump is significant and at 20 week scan baby average size. I am size 12.
