Only 16 weeks but already anxious in case of early arrival...

Hi all

As in the title, I am only 16 weeks pregnant with my first baby but I am starting to worry in case it decides it is appropriate to make an early appearance. My husband is away from the end of March until the middle of May (I am due at the end of May) and, having relocated to the other end of the country, I don't have many friends where I live (well, only one friend really).

Where I now live, I would be lucky if anyone could make it here from home in less than 7 hours (assuming they were in a position to immeidately jump in the car and drive here) and my mam (the person who I would want there if my husband wasn't) is due to be on holiday from early May for 10 days. Whilst my husbands employer would send him home if I went in to labour, it would take a good 24 hours for him to get back :(

I know that there is a good possibility that baby will be late, rather than a few weeks early so why can I not shift this from my head?

Anyone been in a similar situation that could impart some wisdom?

TIA...

I haven't been in a similar situation, so can't share much, but have you thought of getting a local doula to support you?

Thanks for replying Wink

I actually hadn't thought about it, I suppose I have just been focusing in family. I will get 'googling' though and see what I can find.

Thanks again - great suggestion!
