Mid/upper back pain - early pregnancy

I am 8 weeks pregnant and yesterday started to have 'stretchy' type pain in my back. My late evening I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep (and was considering going to A&E). The pain was mainly upper back, sides but I also felt a bit 'tight' in my chest area. Symptoms improved around 0100 and I just feel a bit tender now.
I've had no bleeding, have got my usual background nausea.

Anyone else experienced this and should I be concerned?

By mid/upper back, do you mean between your shoulder blades? If so, could it be that your breasts have gotten bigger, so are putting more strain on your back? Or even that you need a bigger bra?

I have a lot of problems with my thoracic spine anyway (kyphosis and disc degeneration), & I find it gets even worse during pregnancy which has been put down to my breasts!

I'm 8+4 weeks and I've had lower back ache for the last few days and this morning my bum/thighs feel like I've been doing loads of squats!! My thighs als felt a bit wobbly yesterday when i was kneeling on the floor, like I was sitting on a nerve. Really odd and something I've never experinced before (This is No3).

I'm just hoping it's not a sign for SPD.

Thanks for the replies, if was more at the top of my back and sides. I seem fine ish today although I did consider that I was having a heart attack at one point Blush
It was all very odd though.

I have this!
im about 10 weeks, date to be confirmed on wednesday. I think its to do with boobs as i am a GG before being pregnant, I fear how big my boobs will get.

I hope its just this as i had a mmc 2 years ago and have been trying to play it cool even when it took to be 2 months late for a BFP.

NewChoos, I have never experienced this in pregnancy but what you've described sounds a bit like billiary colic/ gallstones. When It happened to me for the first time, I also thought it could have been a heart attack.
Extremely painful.
