we are new to the area does anyone know which is the best maternity hospital, my previous pregnancy i miscarried at 20 weeks so i am nervous about where to go as we are planning a baby, any information would be greatly appreciated! plus this will be a c-section as both my other children were emergency c-sections.. thank you.

Hi- the main place is Medway Maritime, and I had a c-section there almost precisely a year ago (DS will be one on Wednesday).

It was a planned section, and it all went absolutely fine. I have to say the ward/hospital was heaving when we left, they had more people than beds and weren't sure what they were going to do.

The MM has a bad rep, I'll be honest, but it was absolutely fine for me. Nurses were generally fine, food OK but not brilliant. Had DS at 5pm on Monday, and was out on Wednesday.

Dartford is meant to be OK, but obviously haven't experienced that personally.

Hope it goes well for you- how long have you go to go?

The new Tunbridge Wells hospital at Pembury is further away, but it only opened last year. It is very popular as you get your own room with en suite before, during and after delivery. People have been turned away as it gets so busy, but if you are having a c-section that shouldn't be a problem.
