Hi

We had DS3 sexed (is that the right phrase?) at our scan.

Firstly, had he been a girl we'd need to buy stuff, and as he wasn't it was nice to know well ina dvance so we could get people used to it being a him- all the GP's wanted a girl naturally.

In the end, we could name him early and really bond: it was extremely special and I'd do it agin like a shot.

We didn't but it is entirely up to you. Dh really didn't want to know and I went along with that. I have a general rule though which is "when in doubt, don't". If you are not 100% sure, consider why this is and go with your gut feeling.

I have had a gender scan with all of mine (pregnant with 3rd) 2 boys and this one is a girl I like knowing I dont know why but with this pregnancy it was for practical reasons to I have had to buy different clothes etc I am really pleased with finding out before I knew what I was having and the name and so far have never regreted it

We found out with all of ours and never regreted it for a second. When they each arrived, I felt like I already knew them if that makes sense. We kept it to ourselves though - it was purely for us and no-one else knew until we made the birth announcements.

The funny thing was all the speculation from various people who are convinced they know which sex you're carrying. Used to have a private internal giggle when they were totally sure I was having an boy and it turned out to be a girl and vice versa.

we did with no1 but we had also found out she had a congenital heart defect that was quite serious as well as down syndrome so wanted something positive to focus on as well.

with no2 - we thought we might like to but she had other plans - was not revealing a thing at any scan.
