Do I need to ring the ward Or shall I try a hot bath to see if they calm down?

Give your MW a ring and have a both whilst you are waiting for her to ring back.

I would ring labour ward and get checked out.
It may just calm down on its own or you may actually be in labour.
Prem labours can progress quickly.
I would get checked out, just to be on the safe side.
Good luck, I hope it calms down for you

MyLittleAprilSunshine · 07/12/2012 22:03

Good Luck ! :)

TrazzleMISTLEtoes · 07/12/2012 22:05

That sounds just like my Braxton Hicks, but its def worth getting checked out so I'm glad you're at the hospital. They thought I was in early labour, even though it never developed further.

Good luck.

trueblood1fan · 07/12/2012 22:09

good luck.

And how was it?! are you ok??

I have had tightenings since my week 18 (now I'm 30), but for HOURS!! they never were just seconds or minutes, i can have my uterus like a stone for more than three hours. Disappear when i go to the toilet (number two) or when i stop walking and have a seat, or when I'm getting massages, or when i just relax. I already went to the hospital several times and midwife, obstetrician and gynecologist said.. "it is normal and you can get worse (wooorseee????).. but if you have bleeding or pain come back!"... No bleeding or pain so far, anyway i feel really uncomfortable, tightenings squeeze my organs and make me feel sick sometimes... Sad

Just been given steroid injection and I'm bring kept in overnight :( not really sure what's going to happen but my cervix is closed and they don't think I'm going into premature labour. Just have to wait and see and hope he stays in there a bit longer.

This happened to me at 34 weeks but they managed to halt labour for 2 weeks. I was on bed rest and scared/bored shitless. My dd was perfectly healthy when she did arrive. Hope your little one stays put and cooks a little longer.

TrazzleMISTLEtoes · 08/12/2012 07:42

Hi, my Braxton hicks were like this most days from 28 weeks onwards. I was given the steroid injections too but DD stayed put until past her due date so don't worry.

ShakySingsMerryXmasEveryone · 08/12/2012 08:58

How are you this morning?
Have the pains stopped?
I hope you managed to get some sleep.

trueblood1fan · 08/12/2012 09:20

hope you are ok today?! i am having these & am 31+6. my cervix is closed so am riding it out at home.

PipIsOutNow · 08/12/2012 13:02

Aw girls I've had a nightmare. I've been transferred to a different hospital because the SCBU is closed at my hospital and they couldn't risk not having a cot if I go into labour. I've been given tablets to try and slow the contractions down which seem to be helping. They're worried about my c section scar rupturing too. Hopfully just in for a bit of monitoring and I'll be able to go home soon

trueblood1fan · 08/12/2012 13:13

oh crikey, poor you :-( is the monitor picking up your contractions then? everything crossed for you.

PipIsOutNow · 08/12/2012 13:21

Yes they're being picked up on the monitor. Was having some right whoppers last night. They have calmed down now though thankfully
