Anyone experience of this as an early symptom in second pregnancy? I mean really early!

Yes, me! I had PGP / SPD in my first pregnancy at 8 weeks. It got worse and worse till I could hardly walk but just about kept on my feet (I cycled everywhere and did lots of yoga which helped a bit maybe). Unfortunately it didn't go away after giving birth though and two years later I was still having treatment when I got pregnant again. Started at 6 weeks then! Unfortunately I miscarried, so it didn't get a chance to get any worse. Same thing happened six months later and now, here I am, 9 weeks pregnant again and can hardly walk already.

There's a lot of misinformation about PGP unfortunately and I've had doctors tell me I couldn't have it so early. Gah. I'm hyper mobile though and I think that's probably part of the problem - the ligaments around my sacral illiac joint are already quite loose so it only takes a little bit of relaxin to get into them and bam. Game over Confused.

How far along are you OP?

Yes , 3rd pregnancy at 21 weeks they though I was going into labour!
4th pregnancy it started at 8 weeks I couldn't believe it!
I have got a pelvic belt and avoid over walking and putting to much strain on my self!
26 weeks now and I'm off work, its awful but at least it's not as bad as getting pins and using a wheelchair which I grateful for!
Good luck in everything!

I've been asking this same question as people have been fobbing me off that I couldn't possibly have it this early..started at 8+ weeks & I am 9+4 weeks. So upset yesterday with pelvic pains as I'd walked a long way, my first trip out walking in 4+ days.
Do the bands work? Has anyone tried them? Smile

I'm not even late yet Blush . But it feels just like in my last pregnancy.

5th pg and it started at 6 weeks this time. Started with 3rd pg, worse for 4th and I'm worried about how I will cope this time. Pelvic support belt helps me lots. 15 weeks now and I'm already struggling with stairs and getting out of bed.

Some hcp's shrug it off saying everyone gets aches and pains! Others are more sympathetic, but not much more helpful.

Oh god. I had thought that my twinges were something else. Suffered horrendously with DS and I'm only 8 weeks with this one Confused.

What to do?

Mine has started around 5/6 weeks in the last two pregnancies... it happens Sad but what makes it worse is that no one seems to have heard of it and as happy said, you often get the impression people think it's just the aches and pains of pregnancy. It's most definitely not.

I've just contacted the Pelvic Partnership for a list of practitioners (chiropractors, osteopaths, physios) in my area - sadly the only two are people I've visited before! I'll just have to go back I suppose. But it's expensive - I was paying about £35 a week before, I gave up because I just couldn't really afford to keep going.

Can anyone recommend a good band to try?
