Whopping cough vaccine - any side effects experienced?

Hi

I had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday and all was fine - have a sore arm today but that's usual I think. But about an hour ago I started to feel quite dizzy. It's nothing major, I just feel a bit out-of-sorts and a bit 'floppy' and 'weak' if that makes sense?!

I wolfed my lunch in the hope that may be it but still feel the same.

It may be pure coincidence that I had the jab yesterday and am maybe ajust a bit overtired/cold starting but wondered if anyone had had similar?

Hah, I just posted on the flu jab thread about this. I had both of mine yesterday and feel absolutely bloody awful today - very similar to how you describe as well as headachy and tired (despite best nights sleep in weeks). I don't know if it is one or the other or the combination of both, but cannot wait to go home from work. I am clinging to the idea that if it is a reaction to either jab, it can't last very long surely...

Yep, had mine a week ago, had sore arm for a few days and felt very lethargic and weak for a couple of days after over the weekend

Thanks Mindalina.

I almost expected it after the flu jab I had a few weeks ago as I had it once before and immediately felt fluey after (don't they inject some of the live virus?... might have made that up!) but didn't expect anything with W.C.

Counting down hours to go home too - have nice weekend planned so refuse to feel ill! Baby seems happy enough kicking away as usual, such a bore feeling fluey though isn't it?

x

They don't do live virus, that's why you can have it during pregnancy, and not the nasal one.

I felt sore and tired after mine too, but I think it's as much worry as anything in my case. that was about a month ago, and we're still doing fine, me and kidlet.

Nurse said I may have a slight reaction as i had whooping cough as a teenager (fecking great fun that was!) so whilst the jab will help my existing immunity, my body may react slightly as it already has the antibodies.
