I most definitely am.

I am a teacher in a school nursery, 26+3 weeks pg, and I am so, so, so tired. I used to love my job and working with children, now I'm too tired to be bouncy and play, my low blood pressure means I keep feeling sick and dizzy, and honestly all I can think about all day long is how many germs I am accumulating from the children, have had an ongoing cold for about 3 weeks!!

I only have two weeks left until I take leave (was going to stay til Feb but my body is not willing or able!) and I am literally counting down the days. 11 teaching days left. And they cannot come soon enough!

Anybody else on a countdown? xx

I am. I'm due around the same time as you (im 26 + 1) and can't wait to finish. My problem is though I want to work as late as possible as I'm only getting 6 months off and want most of that time with my baby so my ML seems so far away at the minute!

lookingfoxy · 07/12/2012 07:32

Yes me!
I am exhausted all the time, Im 37 this time round so don't know if thats anything to do with it.
My blood pressures quite low as well.
I'll be going on ML as soon as possible (is it 26/27 weeks) and taking all my annual leave before this, im only 12 weeks just now, but going to speak to my boss after christmas about when im leaving, she knows im struggling, im just back after being signed off for 5 weeks.

ScubaSarah · 07/12/2012 07:39

I'm only 7 weeks and I'm starting to think about it. Excluding holidays in the next 5 months I only have about 21 weeks of actual work left SmileI do love my job but have a 2.5 hour each way commute and I'm currently shattered! Will leave work at 32 weeks.

emmyloo2 · 07/12/2012 07:43

I was for the first baby, but this is my second baby and I know now that working is not nearly as hard as looking after a new born baby! So no I am not looking forward to it at all, but that's because I am dreading the new born stage again because I found it so difficult.

Not to bring a downer on your excitement! I just wish I had realised maternity leave was not going to be any form of break or holiday but quite the opposite. Returning to work was a break for me!

ScubaSarah · 07/12/2012 07:53

emmyloo I think it's the 8 weeks Pre birth to rest, sleep, prepare that I'm looking forward to. Oh, and not sitting on a train for >4 hours a day which isn't hard work but is tiring and sh!t for my back! Wink
As for the 18 years post birth, fair crapping myself about that tbh !!
Good luck ladies x

Hamnvik · 07/12/2012 08:29

Me me!! I'm 26 weeks and I'm exhausted. Still have another 9 weeks of work left and I don't know how I'm going to manage, I'm really struggling already. The woman at work who have children all worked until 38 weeks and I feel like a total weakling Sad

sundaesundae · 07/12/2012 08:55

25 weeks and I have 12 weeks to go! This equates to 30 working days, thank you using up AL and Christmas!

10 that's exactly how I was going to start my post!!!

I have done 4 full days in the office this week and could barely walk yesterday afternoon, so have to work from home today. What with coccyx pain, lower back pain and SPD, I'm struggling a bit - thank goodness my job isn't at all physical!!

Am going to have to work from home at least 1 day/week midweek going forward. I have already put my letter in, finishing just before Easter next year, will be 34 weeks, but baby is being delivered at 36 weeks, so will get 2 weeks off. Am going to be really busy after Christmas, so hopefully will help the time pass!!

eagleray · 07/12/2012 10:35

Counting down here too - am 34 weeks today, with 10 working days left. Feel very lucky I haven't had too many health issues, and work isn't very strenuous. Probably haven't been quite as active in this pregnancy as I'd hoped though as after 40 hours sat at a desk and 10 hours commute, the last thing I want to do is exercise!

I'm self-employed, and have no idea when I will get work again, but am quite excited by the unpredictability and open-endedness of it all, despite financial ruin awaiting me!

30 weeks and have precisely 18 working days left. Nice week off at Christmas then back in for 10 days. Roll on, this baby better not come too early! I want to enjoy my month off!

TheCountessOlenska · 07/12/2012 17:56

I am, and I only work 10 hours a week Blush Blush

I'm just finding it hard standing up all day, and my mum does my childcare at the moment so when I finish work I'm hoping she will (very very kindly) still help me out a bit and I can get on with decorating/ nesting without DD under foot!

27 weeks and will hopefully finish at 35 weeks!

AmandaCooper · 07/12/2012 18:52

Only in abject horror at how much I've got to get done in such a small amount of time. I'm just struggling home with bags off stuff to do over the weekend. Baby better not even think about putting in an early appearance!

I absolutely cannot wait!! I have 4 working days left and this time next week I will be on ML!! Am 31 weeks today and am working really long days and don't really even get 10 mins break for lunch so end up eating whilst working. I was going to finish later but am just exhausted by the end of the day and just had enough. I will have 7 weeks before my due date and can't wait!!

I have to say I am not sure I agree about baby being worse than work. Maybe my memory is being very selective but I cannot wait to have a new baby again even with all the sleepless nights and hard work. Or maybe its just because I really don't like my job very much. Anyway, only 4 working days to go! Woo Hoo!!

Lora1982 · 07/12/2012 20:14

10 days or 5 working days :-D

SigningGirl · 07/12/2012 20:24

Me! I'm 34 weeks now - and travelling an hour each way on public transport. If I don't stop soon I'm going to start yelling at all the people that barge me...

I am finishing on 21st December and cannot wait. I think in hindsight I'd have finished earlier (mainly to prepare for baby & christmas) as I have PGP and am in a fair bit of pain. By the time I realised that it was too late, and I had too much work to finish off to leave earlier!!

This is my first, so I'm totally in the dark about the reality of sleepless nights and hard work.... Lalalalalala Grin

AgathaTrunchbull · 07/12/2012 22:11

Ten work days to go and I'll be at 38 weeks by then. I'm only going then, because it's the Christmas holidays (so they don't count towards maternity leave). No idea how I'm going to get everything done in time, to be honest!

No particular health issues - been fairly plain sailing on that front so far, luckily, but the tiredness is starting to mount up...

woody2313 · 08/12/2012 08:31

Yes! 33+4, 10 working days to go and I cannot wait to finish! Work are seriously making me earn my money before I leave - so much for easing off in the latter stages Hmm

phoenixrose314 · 08/12/2012 11:25

Sooooo glad it isn't just me!! Grin

10 working days left now... Oh, and to earlier posters, I realise having a newborn will be hard work, but it's a kind of work I have spent years wanting (baby is a little miracle baby, five years in the making), as opposed to the countless stressful hours I currently spend in meetings, doing assessments and planning and bloody paperwork. At least now my life will revolve around my family, just what I have always wanted.

Plus, two months of nesting and getting stuff ready for baby - really looking forward to that bit!!

Ugh literally 1 week left and I've been counting down since 1 month. I'll be 37+5 when I finish and am absolutely exhausted so I really want my 2 weeks "rest" at least before the boy arrives! Was gonna work til 38+5 because I have so much to do but sleeping, showering, getting dressed and just moving is becoming tough. Can't wait to put my feet up over xmas!

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 08/12/2012 18:54

Me! 5 working days left ... And I'm only in 3 full days out of those Xmas Grin

Early finish for my sweep on Thursday and then an early finish on my last day (assuming I'm there) for a chiro appt.

Also have my Christmas night out with the team this week as well - steak and a small glass of red beckon!

LuckyOwl28 · 09/12/2012 10:58

I'm 23 weeks and working 40 hours in a Nursery. Have narrowly avoided hand foot and mouth, impetigo, conjunctivitus, chicken pox and slapped cheek over the last few weeks, although did catch a horrendous sickness bug at 16 weeks.

I have one morning off a week where I cram in a 2 hour driving lesson as i'm desperately trying to pass before baby's arrival in April. Currently leaving the house at 730am and not getting in til 630pm. I am sooo exhausted but feel frustrated if I don't get in any theory revision!

Can't wait for mat leave (looking at end of Feb), as have so many things I feel I need to organize and don't want to rush last minute, but I know after the initial first week off i'll start getting bored!
