Title says it all. I am officially overdue (okay, okay, only by a day, BUT all my previous pregnancies finished early and this is a new and most unwelcome experience).

So please lovely lovely MNers can I a) have ideas to get me going and b) can I also have good vibes/chants/prayers/ring bells/whatever else to help me along.

All I want is a baby outside rather than in Grin

(prayer bells)

I am 4 days over now, so have the moral high ground, obviously.Wink

I went 14 days over with ds, took a further 2 days to get him out.

I am going to hang around your thread and steal your vibes though.

muma3 · 10/04/2006 10:12

allyco · 10/04/2006 10:18

oh bloody hell colditz did you have to say how long you went over with DS?

I stupdily thought that because allmy other babies were early this one would be too (wonder if it's because they were all DDs and this is a DS?).

Thank you muma3. Pineapple possibly, walking I already do, curry am not sure have had diarrhoea for days now (sorry if TMI), Sex - I. Don't. Think. So. Unless results 100% guaranteed.

What is all this about nipple tweaking/twiddling? Do you just literally hold onto them and tweak them like the knobs on a radio??? How does that work?

STUPDILY?? Even my typing has gone to pot. Stupidly.

Sounds like you could be going soon if your body is clearing itself out.

Sex - I. Don't. Think. So. Unless results 100% guaranteed. It worked for Hunker. Grin

allyco · 10/04/2006 10:21

Right. Am packing littlest DD into car along with older DD (who is off schoool now. The other school-sized DD doesn't finish until Thursday so she was mihty mifed this morning) and going to go out and spend money. That might make something happen..

allyco · 10/04/2006 10:24

did it bullying? Blimey she was brave. But then she was probably more pregnancy glam than I am. Can't see how anyone could do the deed. I have had my head in the toilet throughout (the pregnancy that, is not throughout sex, IYSIM).

I am a miserable old trout today... maybe that means something is happening.

we had a theory on the June '05 mummies thread that wearing white trousers might help! based on the same theory that AF always happens early if you wear white trousers, so since waters breaking and going into labour whilst wearing white trousers would be equally as embarsing we tried it - not sure it worked though!

colditz · 10/04/2006 10:24

huh.

I have had diarrhoea for 6 bloody weeks. Gp says it's hormonal.

Allyco, it runs in my family to go overdue by at least a week so don't panic, you probably won't.

just think though, that baby is in there, and it's head is getting bigger and bigger every day!WinkGrin

allyco · 10/04/2006 10:30

thanks VERY much colditz re head size. That has well cheered me up. You are a sadist, do you know that? Grin

What can I buy? All I really need are baby wipes for DD and a loaf. Hardly worth going out really.

AND maybe I should just go out for them and have another walk, rather than go out in the car..

hunkermunker · 10/04/2006 10:43

LGJ! Shock

(But yes, it did work - and no, I wasn't glam Grin DH's exact words were "Do I have to?!")

BullyingLondonLegalBods · 10/04/2006 10:45

Sorry HunkerBlush but the girl needs encouragement.

PMSL at DH's comment.

hunkermunker · 10/04/2006 10:46

I know, don't fret Grin Heck, it's on a thread somewhere (although I only posted once I went into labour, some things are sacred...!).

cece · 10/04/2006 10:58

Both of mine were late. eat a whole pineapple in one go - that'll do it Wink

snowleopard · 10/04/2006 11:05

I went to a loud gig. Labour next day.

allyco · 10/04/2006 16:15

thanks for messages so far. I think my DH's reaction may be similar to Hunker's Grin but hey, if it works (you DID only have to do it once though, didn't you?)

Also pineapple does seem popular. Is it just fresh or can it be out of a tin?? (and how does it work?)

oh GOD.

For latest news see the April ante-natal thread.

Am now officially pooping myself.

sweetkitty · 10/04/2006 16:35

I tried everything to get DD2 to shift, TBH I wouldn't do a thing, pineapple just gave me the runs, clary sage oil stinks the house oil, curry didn't work and as for sex well it didn't work either, she came 12 days late but some things are worth waiting for! I ended up on antibiotics for sinusitis I was in agony with SPD and on here every morning crying as I was still pregnant so you have my sympathies.

hunkermunker · 10/04/2006 20:26

Allyco, just seen April thread - thinking of you and cannot wait to read your birth announcement. Hope all goes well and you get the birth you want x x x
