Thought I was supposed to be glowing?

9 weeks pregnant here and wondering when the glowing is supposed to start. At the moment I feel like this baby is sucking all the goodness out of my body and leaving me a wreck! My skin is awful, dry and spotty and my hair is coming out by the fistful. When I'm not throwing up I feel constantly on the verge of being sick and I'm beyond exhausted! Please someone tell me that this will get better. I am over the moon to be pregnant but feeling totally miserable otherwise!

I've been throwing up since 6 weeks, have no energy and so so tired! Am 12 weeks now, the nausea is getting better but I now have a face FULL of spot, oh the joys. I've never had such bad skin in my life! Friends have told me that by 14 weeks they were starting to feel much better so here's hoping!

Second trimester is when is all starts to be enjoyable. If you are going to glow, you'll glow then!

I'm 11wks, spotty, flakey skin, fat, sick, tired, greasy flat hair. I'm not sure i will ever 'glow'. Other than in labour but that will be more sweating like a puffing panting pig.

I am 12 weeks and I my skin doesn't have a clue what it wants to do!!
I've had dry, flakey, red patches, then it all cleared and started to look half decent then last night ms peaked and its all red and blotchy again. DH thinks I've burst some blood vessels in my face!! P.s who ever named it morning sickness is a BIG FAT LIAR!!!

16 weeks and still spotty! I have more energy but my hair still looks shit too x

xlatia · 06/12/2012 23:16

ha, the other day a friend of mine say "you already look different" (i'm 12 weeks). he's very very polite and i think he actually meant "you didn't use to have spots and greasy hair!"

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 06/12/2012 23:48

Yep up to 20 weeks I looked dreadful - spotty, blotchy and permanently green, after that I got the nice skin and shiny hair I was promised. Looked especially shit to start with though. Grin

same. spotty, bad breath, feel sick all the time.clothes all look awful on me too. dreading xmas as a result!Fingers crossed its true about second trimester.

I'm 32 weeks and am still waiting to 'glow'

I've had greasy hair, spots, dry skin, nausea and stomach problems, remained exhausted and seem to have out weight mainly on my face.

I only have 8 weeks left to start glowing, I'm hoping it starts soon.

Pochemuchka · 07/12/2012 08:46

Dinosaurs - it could still happen. With DC3 I only started 'glowing' at 33 weeks! (2 1/2 weeks ago).

  • I have the sprightliness of an 80 year old due to SPD and falling down the stairs and suspected fracture of my coccyx. So I look good as long as I don't need to move otherwise the gurning, teeth clenching faces are not attractive! Grin
DinosaursOnAnAdventCalender · 07/12/2012 09:17

Grin fingers crossed! (Not for the spd and the falling down the stairs though, ouch! Poor you)

I need to glow because its Christmas and then my 30th birthday and I want to look half decent whilst I'm sat at home doing nothing

I looked like a wet dishmop from weeks 6 through to 12 (and felt like one too). Never looked so rough in all my life, didn't help that I had no energy to even TRY to wash my hair make myself look presentable.

Been much better since 13/14 weeks though, even had one or two people give me the 'blooming' compliments. At 25 weeks I think now I'm coming out of the other side of that fun bit again now...
