pink discharge

I am 33 weeks pregnant and this afternoon I had a tiny bit of pink discharge when I wiped. I've got no other symptoms, and it has stopped now and I can feel the baby moving.

I've called the midwives' office and left a message, but don't think that they will get back to me until tomorrow.

I just wondered if it is OK to wait till then, or if it could be anything that needs checking out urgently?

I've had spotting a few times in the first trimester, which the MW thought might be due to cervical erosion, and (TMI alert) I had just been straining a bit to go to the loo (damn iron tablets!).

It could be part of your 'show' - the mucous plug that seals the opening to the uterus during pregnancy. Nothing serious if so but do talk to a MW.

Well i finally got a call back from the midwives, Unfortunately I missed the call so they left a message, just saying I should call triage. I'm not sure I'll bother though as i've had nothing more since and no other symptoms, and the baby has been moving lots today.

Personally I would listen to the professionals, what harm can it cause to call them. Better safe than sorry

Ps thanks snowy , i thought if it was a show it would have been more, erm, mucosy? (is that a word?)

Thanks expat. I decided you were right, it wouldn't hurt to call them, so I did.

They told me to keep an eye on it and call again if there is any more, or if I have any other symptoms. They didn't make me feel silly for calling and it's put my mind at rest, so I am glad I did.
