I have hypermesis gravidum and my family and partner have only taken it seriously since the Duchess has been put in hospital with it.
It really annoys me they suddenly are now caring. Did they think i was making it up before?????
Anyone else experiencing this

I swear people think pregnant women make it up

I think you may be right. I can't get over how people assume that their experience of morning sickness (which is vile) equates to having HG.

At least they are being nice to you now. I have never experienced it myself but have no trouble believing other people when they tell me.

I was hospitalized with HG. Truly awful. Sorry your feeling rotten op.

I had to plead with the doctor to admit me. I was in tears Blush

sometimes yes

(Currently on my 2nd HG pregnancy)

however between pregnancies when i was better, i made it pretty clear to the other poor people who "went to work" with morning sickness, that HG is not morning sickness and to explain very clearly the massive difference

HG can kill you, and before IV therapy etc it was one of the larger causes of death in pregnant woman....
I am adament that without medical help i would be dead, and i do point that out to the people who worked through MS.

I have had much more sympathy this time
