Getting a bit stressed because I'm NOT sick...

I'm grateful, don't get me wrong. The people I know who have had HG have my complete sympathy, it sounds horrendous, and even those who have more conventional sickness go through the mill too. But all the comments about Kate M and HG being a sign of a strong pg are really bugging the hell out of me and also worrying me a bit.

With DD I had no sickness, just fainted a few times, and at the first scan I was convinced it would be bad news. Well, she's now almost 3 and perfect, but I'm 12 weeks pg and my scan is on weds, and the fears are back. I've felt nauseous and gone off food, but not sick. I know it's irrational and there are plenty of other symptoms to have, but all these sodding top consultants banging on about it all just makes me feel a) guilty I don't have the same issues and b) worried.

I don't want to be ill, I want to feel lucky and happy that I am so fortunate, but I dread the scan just in case. Tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! Roll on weds...

Here's my similar thread from about 5 weeks ago, OP. the people on it were lovely and gave me much the same messages you've had here. Take comfort :) www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1604694-Not-feeling-pregnant

Funny isnt it - we stress when we are sick, and we stress when we arent!

I am literally counting down the days to the scan so we know everything is ok!

I'm 32 weeks and I didn't get any actual sickness either - just waves of nausea in the afternoon every now and then. This tameness freaked me out initially and it took me a long time to relax & not worry about this pregnancy as I'd had a mc at 7 wks in jan with my first pregnancy & hadn't had much sickness then.

Also, my friend (who now has an adorable 3 month old girl) barely had any morning sickness either.

It seems to have no rhyme, reason or pattern to it! I wish they would do more research on it..

I had no sickness or nausea at all when pregnant with DS.

I've also seen that statistic about 25% of pregnant women not having any morning sickness.

I was really sick, but my own sister was wasn't that much...i wouldn't worry

diyqueen · 04/12/2012 21:10

I'm worrying too a bit as I had quite bad nausea (though only sick a couple if times) with dd but not much really with this pg (though am only 6 weeks and can't remember when it kicked in last time). Am wondering now if there's any truth in the old wives tale about more sickness = baby girl, less = boy...?

timetosmile · 04/12/2012 21:14

I only vomited once, through three pregnancies. Smile

I too was one if the lucky 25% who are never sick. I was extremely tired in my first pregnancy but no sickness at all. Second pregnancy was with twins and I can honestly say I felt great!
