Anyone dieting through pregnancy?

I put on 4 stone during my last pregnancy and its one big factor putting me off a second pregnancy. I really cant afford to put it on again. I am 2 stone down now and plan to continue to try and lose.

I thought about perhaps asking my doctor to refer me to a dietitian if I get pregnant again.

Is anyone of a weight loss plan during pregnancy, I don't want to lose loads, just don't want to put loads on again.

Anyone tried it and succeeded?

You aren't supposed to diet when pregnant but you can follow a healthy eating plan - bear in mind baby/waters/placenta etc weigh approx 2stone and your body is programmed to lay down fat stores for bf.

Weightwatchers won't let you get weighed when pg but you can follow the plan because it's about healthy eating.

Slimming world offer their classes to pregnant women, but as previous poster said you shouldn't aim to lose weight while pregnant however a balanced diet and controlling your weight gain is definitely advised.

If you still have a fair amount of weight you want to lose, maybe put off TTC if it would bother you to gain weight?

Congratulations on your weight loss so far :) I gained nearly 5 stone when pregnant with my DS, and have delayed TTC until I have lost it all (he is 20 months and we have recently started trying for another DC as I'm back to my target weight).

Slimming World is the only plan authorised by the Royal College of Midwives as being acceptable during pregnancy. You have to have written permission from your midwife to take to group with you.

I have lost 2 stone with them so far and will be continuing through my pregnancy as I am still around 4 stone overweight.
