Poor thing, I know exactly how she feels being a fellow sufferer although I bet she didn't have to wait in a &e to be admitted whilst throwing up in a lunchbox like me ; )

Ah congrats to them.
Bet they didn't want to announce quite so soon but maybe her being in hospital pushed it along

RockabillyKitty · 03/12/2012 16:50

Gah I was just going to post this!

It's quite good/weird being preggers at the same time as her!

Mrsb999 · 03/12/2012 17:09

Yes congrats to them, I wonder when she is due?! She needs to join mumsnet, ha!

I reckon she's already been on looking, but isn't allowed to post in case she's outed.
Poor thing, HG is awful, I thought I was going to die.
Plus she's really skinny, I lost 4 kilos over 10 weeks. If she does the same she will be very thin.
Good luck Kate!

ScubaSarah · 03/12/2012 17:47

rockyabilly I thought that same thing! I'm 6/7 weeks so probably similar due date. Very odd!
HG does sound hideous so I'm thanking my lucky stars I'm (currently) only having mild symptoms; having been worrying at the weekend that my symptoms weren't strong and was I therefore at higher risk of mc as worse symptoms mean lower risk....
Apparently, I am a worrywart, who knew!

Congrats to Kate and Wills, hope she's better soon!!

CheerfulYank · 03/12/2012 17:49

Poor thing, was my first thought! I'm having quite a rough time with this one (due in May) and as someone who just projectile vomited orange juice out of my nose about an hour ago, I just want to give her a hug.

I didn't have anything beyond a mild twinge of nausea with my first, so this pinned-to-the-floor desperation was...a bit unexpected.

Poor Kate! And congratulations if you read this! Wink

Mrsb999 · 03/12/2012 17:50

Yes, I'm 24 weeks and still being sick, I'm lighter than before I was pregnant still although I had a fair few lbs spare.

Poor Kate, although hopefully now there will be a bit more knowledge about HG and she won't be told to 'try a ginger biscuit'!!

I feel really sorry for her, it was bad enough having to tell people I knew about my pregnancy early but for the whole bloody world to know you are 6 weeks or whatever is awful.

RooneyMara · 03/12/2012 17:55

I hope she gets a lot of rest and rehydration - that can really help and a lot of 'normal' people with HG only get admitted after a fight, and only for a day or two.

Paradisefound · 03/12/2012 18:11

Poor love .. Going through this is bad enough.. But imagine the whole bloody world watching! I wish them the best of luck.

LaurenCaddy · 03/12/2012 18:17

she's less than 12 weeks, had to announce due to a long stay in hospital. I got my fingers crossed for her. Hope she doesn't get harassed by press and she gets her space. Best of luck to them.

brettgirl2 · 03/12/2012 18:55

It certainly puts being pissed off about mil blabbing into perspective doesnt it? The pictures I saw online had loads of reporters outside the hospital :-( Rooney I'd rather be normal and allowed to vomit in the privacy of my home any day.

If she is reading congrats and it will (eventually) get better and be worth it.

Such lovely news Smile. Although it made me smile in a rueful way that the news reports that she's been admitted to hospital with morning sickness (of course later it explains it's hyperemesis rather than morning sickness). Maybe people will start taking sickness in pregnancy more seriously if Kate has to be admitted perhaps others will understand it's more than just 'feeling a bit poorly in the morning'. And she doesn't have any weight to lose so I really feel for her. But lovely news all the same!
