Ok so I am 22 weeks with DC2. I had an elective CS with DS and never had any problems with my pelvic floor during or after my last pregnancy. However, in the last few weeks I have had a terrible chest infection and have been coughing my lungs up for much of the week. When I cough I have noticed I am having little leaks Blush. Then this morning I had a sudden bout of morning sickness (yep that little joy is ongoing) and my bladder was a bit full at the time. As I was sick I wet myself! Like actually weed all down my leg! Luckily I was at home and in my PJs so nobody knew. I am doing my pelvic floor exercises every day as often as I remember but am terrified this will get worse and I'll end up weeing myself at work! has anyone else had this problem? What can I do?

I don't know, but if you find a magic solution, will you let me know?! I actually mentioned it to my midwife last week and she told me to do pelvic floor exercises and that if nothing improves, she'll refer me for physio after the baby is here. My pelvic floor is rubbish after DS.

Thanks Possum. I'm not sure the exercises are helping! I am too young to be weeing myself!

This happened to me last pregnancy at about the same stage as you. I think I remember reading it's something to do with hormones relaxing things. Anyway, it was a short term problem and only connected to the coughing, no long term problems here, don't worry.

I wet myself in the kitchen when I was very pregnant with my ds. My dd wrote all about it in her news book at school, and told everyone about it at circle time, despite her teacher's valiant attempts to shut her up!

It never happened again so try not to worry too much!
