Hanging my head in shame but I need to ask you about piles. Never had them before and think I've been in denial the last few days - but decided to face up to the horror today and have a proper look and now I'm certain Blush

22 weeks pregnant and really suffering. I have acquired some Germoloids, but the instructions say it is suitable for use in pregnancy BUT that you should consult your doctor before using.

Why would they say its suitable but then tell you to see the doc first? I'm ok to just crack on Wink and use it, right?

Probably because there hasn't been enough research done specifically on PG women for them to have a license to say it's safe to use in PG.

It's only a mild topical anesthetic anyway, isn't it? so I can't see a problem with using it.

I'm also 22 weeks and have used germaloids this PG.

Poor you, isn't pregnancy glamorous! The reason you need to see your GP is that when medicines are trialled for safety, they rarely are tested on pregnant women, so they can't be sure it's safe.

Best you see your GP - I did and she gave me a few medicines to use and it really helped. Plus, with your maternity exemption certificate, you won't need to pay for them. Bonus!

I would suggest you get using it and then go and see our GP soon. I'm 38 weeks and am on my third bout of piles....it's been hell. They don't get better by themselves and your GP can give you the best stuff. But in the meantime don't suffer and start using the cream. Horrible, painful things!

Thanks for the replies. think I'm going to go ahead and use it - not able to get to my GP until Thursday as have to go away for work and think they could get a whole lot worse by then if I don't do something Shock

Will take the advice and get to the GP (and hopefully get something prescribed if needed) on Thurs
