Can this happen? I just noticed a wet patch on my top and I'm very freaked out Confused This is my first baby. How can I be making milk already?!

I had a tiny bit of leaking at 22 weeks but only for a day or so. Then a bit more at 30 weeks for a day and then it stopped. I don't think it's anything to worry about. I took it as a good sign that my boobs were ramping up for their new role!

No need to freak out, very normal but you will need some breast pads Smile

I'm 24 weeks and this has started happening to me this week! I was freaked too. I spoke to my Mum and she said it happens at different times for everyone, for my sister it was 21 weeks! So it made me feel better and not so abnormal :) Good luck in your pregnancy. x

I had this very early on, I think from 21 weeks and remembering googling it to find out if it was normal Blush.

I thought I'd spilt tea on myself one evening, then it happened again the next evening and i then realised the wet patch was coming from me Blush !

Purchase some breast pads from home bargains (1.29 for 50) or tesco/mothercare etc do them too, just a bit more expensive.

It is totally normal, your body is preparing for your baby's arrival. If you are planning to breastfeed, you shouldn't have any issues with supply!

I've heard you can hand express colostrum and freeze it - might come in handy if there are any problems with feeding after the birth.

(Also note, my supply was FABULOUS, which may be a reason why I leaked so early in pregnancy)

So it really is coming from me. Eek!

Thanks everyone, I'm glad I'm normal :) Suddenly a bit terrified now though.

I've had this from 16 weeks with all 3 of mine. I find washable pads save me a fortune at this stage as I can make 1 pair last a day at work. (a few hours if I'm lucky after birth.)

DangerMousey · 02/12/2012 09:34

I have had this on as off since about 29 weeks. Sometimes it doesn't happen for a couple of weeks, and then I'll notice it again - all completely normal apparently. So don't worry if it seems to stop for a few weeks and then comes back.

I had this from 16 weeks, freaked me out too! Grin

T'is all normal!

glossyflower · 03/12/2012 07:30

Yep as other posters say its normal. I'm 20 weeks and have noticed flaky bits around my nipples. When I squeezed a little clear fluid came out. It does feel weird to have leaky nipples as this is my first pg and I've never experienced it before. Weird, even though that's what our breasts are intended for lol. X

Thanks everyone, I feel much better now. It was just a bit of a shock seeing my body do something expected. I guess I had better get used to it :) I will be buying some breast pads today.
