I saw my MW last week and she informed me I am having Very Big baby. Thanks for that MW! At least it's taken my mind off my swollen feet and other hypochondriac thoughts.

My dd was only 6'4 and I found that labour hard/painful enough.

Logic would say the bigger the baby the harder and more painful it is to deliver, but I was 10'4 and my mother says it was no more painful than my siblings who were all smaller.

I wondered if the fact that she is quite pear shaped and I've got very boyish straight hips makes more of a difference.

So what do you think ladies? Have you had one small and one big un? Did you notice any difference in pain, time, etc?

I was told that my DD was a big baby. When I asked about size, MW said "I won't lie to you, its very big!"

She was 7 pounds 9!

MW said DS was big too - he was 8 pounds 5 (so not small but not massive). My labour and pushing him out was FAR easier than DD who was smaller.

My first labour was mammoth - 52 hours. Second labour (bigger baby) 1 hour 54 minutes Xmas Grin

Good luck!

My babies ranged from 5'15 to 7'10.

No difference pain wise....personally after giving birth 5 times,i think the position of the baby has alot more to do with how painful it is.

Also mw estimating the babys weight...Never met a mw that guessed any of mine even close to final birth weight!

My baby was only 5lb 11 and it was sodding agony!!

My first baby was 8lb 9oz and it was horrible. The next one was 10lb 13oz and it was a walk in the park. However, I had been told that he was average size (after regular dating scans, go figure!) so I don't know whether that helped because I was expecting an easier labour Smile I quite deliberately didn't push until I really, really couldn't stop myself and then he was out in 3 pushes. Easy peasy, honestly Grin
