Disappearing symptoms - reason to panic?

I'm coming up to 9 weeks and have been feeling sick for about a month, as well as having a strong metallic taste in my mouth.

Am currently away from home with work, and the symptoms have stopped. I no longer feel sick, and the taste in my mouth has gone. I'm still really tired - but I'm always really tired, and am also getting over jet lag. I think my boobs are still swollen but they also seem to have gone down a bit.

Went to the GP at 6 weeks because I was convinced cramping was a miscarraige and she referred me for an early scan, so don't feel like I can do that again. My first MW apptmt is not for another week. My DH is looking after his mum, who's had a fall and can't be on her own, so I don't want to add to his load.

No bleeding or cramping, but I'm really worried. Does this sound bad to you? Is there anything I can do except for wait to see the MW? Will she be able to do anything?

Sorry for the length of this post.

At that early stage my pregnancy symptoms came and went!
It got really confusing, one week I was sick as a dog the next nothing, and just as the worry was becoming too much I'd feel sick again, apparently this is not uncommon.
If your concerned go to your gp, and ask for a blood test to check your hormone levels, try to keep calm Smile

Try not to worry. My symptoms disappeared at 9 wks too. Then came back at 20 wks!

It seems they often come and go in the first trimester especially.

I read your title and thought Not if you're about 9 weeks pregnant! and opened the thread and saw you are :) Apparently it's because the placenta is more established so it starts taking over the hard work for you. It's a relief but disconcerting at the same time.
Like sunny my sickness has reared it's ugly head again around 18 weeks! Confused

Thank You - I feel like I'm going mad here with no one to talk to. Think I just need to get a grip. I should be able to enjoy it but just desperately want to feel sick again!

Are you on an ante-natal thread for your due date? I've found it really helpful to know where other people due the same time as me were at symptom-wise!

efme · 01/12/2012 12:09

Thank you - that's a good idea. I had no idea the symptoms might stop! Have been terrified

I'm 5 weeks and don't have any symptoms. Don't worry about it to much.. they'll be back in no time, then you will be wishing you didnt say anything :-P

she probably won't do anything, my first MW appointment is next week due to past m/c's.. is this your first?

Dillydollydaydream · 01/12/2012 14:21

I had the same at 9/10 weeks, I get the odd wave of nausea now and then but sore boobs have disappeared. I'm 14 weeks now and had a scan in Thursday which showed a nicely growing baby.

efme · 01/12/2012 17:27

Riley Yes, it is my first and I'm probably being stupidly anxious but everything I do without thinking about it turns out to be really bad for you... So I keep on thinking something must have gone wrong. Do you have to wait until te 12 wk scan to find out if everything is ok?

Thanks for your reassurance dilly - really hope I can say the same in a few weeks! Seems likes lifetime away

I had horrid nausea 24/7 and was wishing it away then it did suddenly vanish for around 3 days in week 9 and I panicked and wanted it back!

I'm now 26 weeks and all is well smile

RileyTheLittleMonster · 01/12/2012 21:53

See if your local Early Pregnancy Unit will give you a scan?

I will most likely get an early scan because I had an early miscarriage in August, plus I have my First Midwife appointment within a week because of all my extra scans at 12, 16, 20 and 24 weeks, and gynaecologist appointments after every scan and swab testing because I lost my little boy at 23 weeks in April... So I get alot of reassurance, Never stops knicker checking and worrying though Sad

If you can't refer yourself to the EPU, talk to your doctor and see if he/ she will refer you.. It's worth the try, hopefully they will!

Riley that is awful - I'm so sorry for you. Hope all goes well with this one, and thank you for the advice.
