34 weeks and might be leaking some fluid after using pessary last night?

Hi, thanks for reading and sorry for TMI
I am 34+4, have GBS and on top of it was told yesterday that I have BV and thrush. I was given antibiotics to treat BV and a pessary for thrush. Took both of them last night, woke up today and leaked some fluid mixed with the pessary through my underwear and a bit was dripping down my leg. Changed my knickers and wet them too.
I called day assessment unit and was told to put a pad on for an hour if it's wet go to triage.
I checked the pad and is just a little bit dump on top, very little.
now I'm not sure what to do, shall I wait a bit longer or was it my body trying to get rid of the excess of the pessary?
I don't want to leave it for too long as I have GBS and don't want to infect the baby. Don't want to go to triage with a dry pad either but that's how my previous labour started jus a bit of waters dripping and then 12 hours later contractions started.
Sorry but I'm worried :(

If you are worried, go. They won't mind and you have good reason to, hopefully they will check you and let you go, but definitely best not to leave it.

Oh you poor thing. I can understand why you are worried.

Just from my own experience, I've been leaking in a similar way for a few weeks, just a little every day, not enough to make a pad properly wet.

It's just like water.
I went in yesterday finally and they had a look with a speculum and said, it's just discharge, possibly thrush - but I've had no itching or pain and I normally get that with thrush so I'm not convinced.

So it could just be that, with you - but if you have GBS you need to be checked out, as if it's a proper leak then that means there's a risk of infection obviously.

Can you call them again and say what's happened and what happened with your previous labour?

Good luck, hope you can get seen again.

Also I had a scan as was measuring small (31 at 34 weeks) and it showed my fluid is bordeline low. So I think they will keep an eye on it anyway, as below 8 at this stage is classed as oligohydramnios, and that can be dangerous for the baby.
So a scan might be a good thing to have for you.

In my last pregnancy I treated my thrush with a pessary, and coincidentally my waters started leaking the next day... I'd go and get checked out.

thanks ladies, will try calling them in an hour and see what they say. I do hope it's just thrush :(

Try not to worry too much...I was told that at 34 weeks the baby is likely to have no problems.

just called them, couldn't wait that long. a very nice midwife asked me to put a maternity pad on and call her in 2 hours. she said it could be just the pessary and thrush and vaginal fluid mixed together. if I'm still worried after the 2 hours I need to go and get checked.

I have had exactly the same trouble I used a pessary on Wednesday night and on Thursday lunch time I felt a strange sensation downstairs when I went to the lol my pessary had some out not on its complete form but a lot and water had leaked all over my knickers and tights!! I called the hospital and was told to put a towel on and wait 2 hours I did this but then I wasn't certain if it was a bit damp or not. Should I be worried? the baby has been moving around as usual. I only inserted the pessary a fingers length !

Im not quite as pregnant as you but have GBS, thrush etc - its grim isnt it? I have had quite a lot of discharge and what you describe sounds just like what i have been getting - it had also crossed my mind about my waters but on balance i realised that it probably wasnt enough to be that. However if you are anxious i would check, its always better to find out and be wrong.

I know this is an old thread, but it responseto the new posts, definitely worth getting checked out just in case.

I am 31 weeks and have to use progesterone pessaries three times a day and have this happen to me, have had two incidences where it has soacked through panty liner and underwear. Both times have been to the assesment unit and all fine, just seems to be a pregnancy thing with me apart from the first time where they think it was a slow leak from my hind waters.

Always get checked out though, cause the first time

May I ask what was the outcome.
I did my second pessary last night as been prescribed 7 days worth for Candida. First treatement I used in day and had very little white come out . Last nights I put in at bed time but felt water leak through our night. Checked my underwear this morning, visible pessary leakage but also wet patches . Lucky I have a scan this morning as high risk.

thank you
