I am 10 weeks pg with my 2nd and feeling like such a big fatty already. I'm getting paranoid it's twins and made the mistake of googling bump pictures, then twin bump pictures. Eek! I can't believe a tummy can get that big! www.google.co.uk/search?q=10+week+pregnant+belly+pictures+twins&hl=en&sa=X&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&ei=mHa2UKDIDquY0QXSvoDQAQ&ved=0CCwQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=406

I was just coming to terms with the idea/practicalities of twins plus DS but now not so sure...

I was much bigger earlier with ds2 and now I'm pregnant with dc3 (only 11 weeks) and DH just said 'OMG, where did THAT come from' when I lifted my top and showed my bump! LOL Try not to panic, it's quite common to be a lot bigger once you've had a baby! :)

katesav87 · 28/11/2012 20:57

I am pg with dc2 and was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks cos I felt so big but I only have 1 in there I'm 14 weeks now and still got a bump I think it's more water than n e thing and u do get bigger quicker on your second pregnancy as ur stomach muscle never go back to there original state from 1st pregnancy. All my friends have been the same huge before 12 weeks and they all had 1 :-) xxx

I agree, much bigger with this pg, dc2. Struggled to do up trousers by 8 weeks despite no weight gain.
Unless you have twins in the family it really is pretty unlikely.

Thanks all x. Obviously I am just being paranoid- also freaked DH out when I mentioned it to him!
I thought your chances of having non-identical twins increases with age as opposed to identical twins, which is a genetic thing? Think I'm just trying to prepare myself for all eventualities Smile
How do you all manage to hide you bump from friends/colleagues? I've got loads of Christmas lunches/dinners coming up and am trying to think of creative excuses to leave early and not drink. Already been getting a few sly smiles but not ready to tell folk yet.

I got huge really quick with this pg (dc3) but haven't got any bigger since about 20 weeks (although the bump has changed shape since then). I think your body has a 'memory' after the first pregnancy and just does it all a lot quicker.

I've had a lot of 'is it twins' comments early on but now it's just a normal neat bump.

Good luck with your pg op!

I feel the same as you and also very worried about twins!! This is my second pregnancy and I am 12w but look the same as I did at 20w with my first pregnancy. I've got my scan next week so will have to try not to worry till then.

Lambethmum · 29/11/2012 14:54

I was stopped in the street and asked when the baby was due at 7 weeks with my second! It made me panic about twins too, but it turned out to be just one, a 4.2kg boy

Longdistance · 29/11/2012 15:01

I was bigger in my 2nd pg. I think it has something to o with the body being previously stretched, so knows what it's doing.

CailinDana · 29/11/2012 15:39

My family made oh so helpful comments about twins at the start of this pregnancy because I was so big so early. It's normal I think.

I just said to my mother "You looked like an elephant when you were pregnant with younger sis" (and she did) - that shut her up.
