Ive just been to see my gp as i have a dull aching pain in my right pelvic area, my gp said that it could be an ectopic pregnancy and took a urine sample which came back negative. He wants me to go back for a blood test on thursday to do a blood pregnancy test and has booked me in for an ultrasound to check whats going on. He said all the symptoms lead to an ectopic pregnancy but then it could just be a muscle strain causing the pain. Feel scared :(

How many weeks are you? I've had occasional pains on the side, but have put them down to muscles stretching (am 11w). I hope everything works out for you and it isn't an ectopic pregnancy.

Trust you instincts! If you feel something is wrong, insist they check it out. A dismissive doctor nearly cost me my life. I don't want to scare you just never want anyone to go through what I did.

Luckily my story has a happy ending. Despite rupturing and heavy internal bleeding and losing my right tube I am now pregnant again.

You know your body best. Don't assume a doctor is correct...please! Hope all is ok, chances are it is, but the earlier you know the better able they are to manage it with the best possible outcome for you.

Use google to see if there is an Early Pregnancy Unit near you. Some of them have walk-in self referral services. If you are in London, I cannot recommend St Thomas' enough! Otherwise A&E.

The only symptoms I had was mild period type pain and brown watery discharge/blood (sorry tmi). I was not in any real pain until it ruptured, even then no one had any idea it was so bad.

I do not want to scare you at all, but better to be safe and sure than risk it.
