2 strand question....

Best make and manual vs electric?

I really like the Medela Swing but its expensive and I've no idea if its any good.

I'm going to combine (hopefully) bf and expressing so husband can feed too.

Thanks

It really depends on you personally. I like the Philips Avent single electric (can also be converted to manual - works better/faster for me on manual but probably only after several months experience).

Also used the Medela Mini Electric and had real trouble getting the milk out and found it painful, however I then passed it on to a friend who LOVED it and said it was the only pump she'd ever used that could actually get any milk out.

There are some breast pump hire options, so if you're thinking of a more expensive option you could try hiring first to see if it suits you.

Also, when the time comes Google tips for successful expressing. It can be quite difficult in the beginning (babies are very effective at getting the milk out, but show your boob a pump and it might not be so cooperative.. Grin that was my experience anyway).

Medela swing is excellent.
