Spotted '3 white lines' at the 20 week scan.....

We had decided we wanted a surprise, and the hospital where we had the scan doesn't disclose gender anyway.

However, as the midwife zoomed in on various parts, I saw a clear, short 3 white lines 'down there', with equal distance between. I remembered someone saying that this is a sign of a girl, is that right?

Previously I had been convinced we were having a boy so it's thrown me off, but we'd be over the moon either way.

Has anyone had a gender scan who knows more than me?

I was told they could see three lines, its a girl, and she was! She's sleeping on me right now...

I think guessing yourself is fun but very unreliable.

If you have an experienced sonographer, the most modern ultrasound equipment, and a clear 'potty shot', at 20 weeks there is a high chance they'll get it right.

There is always a chance of them being wrong, but if all the right conditions are met, there is a much greater chance of them being right.

I've been told 'boy' at 20 week scan 3 times and have 3DS... so 100% correct so far! This time the sonographer was very sure it is a girl. Would be lovely if she's right, but we're not buying much or telling anyone else, and we have chosen a boy's name as well as a girl's, just in case. The two older boys think this baby is another boy - they can't imagine having a sister!
