Letter for 12 week scan and follow-up appointment issued simultaneously?

I received a letter for my 12 week scan yesterday along with a follow-up appointment for a couple of weeks later with the obstetrician. I wasn't informed that there would be a follow-up appointment and thought it was a bit strange that both letters were issued at the same time. I live in the Aberdeenshire area. Is this normal practice? Thanks.

Yeah sounds about right - are you going to be at ARI? I'm going to Dr Grays in Elgin and my follow up appointment was straight after the scan.
