Heartbeat gender indication?

I recently heard something about being fast for one gender and slower for another?

I had a scan today and the sonography remarked that it was a 'super fast heartbeat' (initially this panicked me but I was reassured that it was just the 'super fast' side of normal!)

Has anyone else heard this? And what gender does that mean?

It has been scientifically discredited - it is nothing more than an old wives tale. If you are having a scan there are more reliable ways of finding out hte sex of the baby!

A midwife told me that it was not to relied upon, after all the heartbeat could simply depend on how active the baby is at the time the reading was taken; like us, when we're active, our heartbeats go up and when we're chilling/ sleeping, our heartbeats are slow.
(I was a bit disappointed too as having promised not to find out the sex, I am so curious!)

I asked my MW this because i am very inpatient person.

She said she thought it was a boy due to the heartbeat and i had a feeling it was a boy. i didnt start to buy boy clothing at 16 weeks

I think girls is faster, not to sure though.

I also did the chinese gender, it was right too, but so was all the wives tales!
