Pain in ribs

In both pregnancies I've had a sharp pain in my ribs on the left side of my back, worse if I've been sitting for a long time eg driving. It feels like something digging in between my ribs. It gets slightly better if I bend my arm and put my left hand behind my back for some reason.

Does anyone know what this is and what I can do about it?

I had this between about 8 and 18 weeks, I got told it was rib flair, something to do with everything squashing upwards. I told the midwife and she offered physio but I never got round to it and thankfully it has gone now. X

I had this with DS and went to physio. Got a huge tubigrip that went from my bra strap to my hips. Pain in the arse to wear (too uncomfortable under trousers or jeans) but really helped! I wouldn't have managed to carry on working without it!
