Cloth Nappies?? where can I get them?

I have been searching the internet for a few days now and cannot find any cheap cloth nappies!!! Does anyone know where I can buy some from that won't damage my bank account too much?

Tesco sell packs of terry nappies for around £7. They are very basic but you could buy pretty covers for over them :).

How do you feel about 2nd hand? I've had loads 2nd hand and they're fine. Look on FSOT of naturalmamas.

Or Easy Peasy Nappies - they sometimes have some good offers.

I am not to fussed about second hand ( as long as they arrive clean, haha). Ooh on mobile so hope nappy topic isn't to far down :). Shall have a look at sites also. Thank you ladies x

Buy second hand and get a wide range - nappies, like babies, come in all different shapes and sizes! No point buying a btp set for a couple of hundred quid only to find they leak in minutes :)

Ds is 4 days old, I'm itching to get him into cloth but the first one rubbed his stump so i have to wait...

I recently bought a big batch of littlelambs bamboo nappies. There was a clearance sale that was advertised through their facebook group. I would suggest likeing nappy manufacturers on fb.

Look at the mumsnet product reviews for reviews of different brands nappies.

Go to an NCT sale - I bought some at one, but also sold mine there.

I used bamboozles which were fantastic. I cannot recommend using cloth nappies highly enough. We saved loadsa money (smug mummy), baby only ever got nappy rash when using disposables a few times whilst away, easy to manage, no rubbish to dispose of and I preferred it.

I'm not a super green person, I just wanted best for my baby.

Oh, and pidjin, our son had serious abdominal surgery at a day old with a scar from chest to below where his tummy button should be (he doesn't have one). He went into cloth at 3 weeks old once home from hospital. I found them better than the disposables he had been in up til then as softer. :-)

Good luck - it's worth it.

Final tip - put baby in a disposable if you're going out all day, then you can throw away and put into a cloth one whilst out. My nursery were happy to use his cloth nappies too. :-)

He had a prefold on, the stump bled. He's in sposies till it's gone :)

He's 5lb8oz, so i dont have many options yet!

Yes I've heard they save a lot of money - one of the main reasons im eager to find some :) plus if it was me I would rather have a cloth nappy on my bottom than a normal nappy. Thnks a lot Everton, wasn't expecting so many replies :) x

On the advice of more experienced friends, I've gone for prefolds with wraps - i picked up enough to take him to 15lb for £46 including postage, and i know of others who've spent similar. Because you fold them yourself, they're much more adjustable so more likely to fit, but they're slimmer than terries.

On top of that, i have a random collection of other types and brands that I've collected along the way. I'll add to that collection once i know what shape he turns out by buying more of what works.

Ds is 5 days old and i estimate that £80 has taken us nearly to the potty stage - that includes some pretty ones like his Gen Y Guitars wrap. He's my first, and if we have another then that one will use the same nappies :)

I just got 5 little lambs on eBay nearly new for £10 including postage. I got some itti bittis for a similar price, they were in good condition.

You can get a terry nappy kit with everything you need in it for £56. I used this with all four of mine. There is loads of info on this website as well, including tips for washing and folding instructions.

Just bought some bits for new baby with Council Grant, so they do still do them. I think mine was on the council website under 'waste disposal'.

I got a set that would have cost £200 new at an NCT nearly new sale for £20. I really recommend them (& you don't have to be an NCT member to go).
