Hi lovely BFP ladies! I just wondered if any of you had PCOS and irregular periods/no clear ovulation signs and how you got your BFP? Did anyone try anything herbal like Chinese herbs/agnus castus or soy? I've been ttc for a year and am getting pretty desperate thanks

I have PCOS and irregular anovulatory cycles. It's taken me 2.5 years to get pregnant. Tbh I tried pretty much everything - low gi diet, herbs, acupuncture, relaxation, preseed etc etc etc. Nothing worked. Eventually I had 3 cycles of clomid, which sent me crazy but didn't get me pregnant either. However it did seem to kickstart my ovaries because 2 months later I ovulated naturally and conceived for the first time in my life.

As far as I know the only proven way to improve PCOS-related infertility is to lose weight (if you are overweight) and/or take drugs to induce ovulation. I also lost 6lbs through 3 months of strict diet and exercise before I conceived and I think getting my BMI below 30 may have helped.

Good luck with your ttc journey. It can be a long slog but I hope I'm proof it's worth keeping on trying.

Hi I used agnus castus to regulate my progesterone levels. My herbslist reckoned the hormone levels were out of whack- which is why I have always had AWFUL pms. (admittedly not PCOS but still couldnt conceive)

3 months after taking a few drops every day the pms got better. 3 more months & BFP!

So I think it works. But you should get a specialist to take a history, don't just buy any old stuff in holland & b. a British herbalist is who you need.

Good luck!
