Hello all,
I am 39 weeks today and thought it would be nice to start a thread for anyone else that's nearllllyyyyyyyyy there!
This is our first baby and I found out yesterday that our little one is back to back.
I really hope the baby turns as everyone keeps telling me how painful it will be!

I have had a little bit of a show but no twinges or anything so think I will be going over!!
I am so very ready to have this baby now but they come when they are ready, not us.
Would love to hear from anyone else at 39 weeks. Xxxxx

I'm at 40 weeks and feeling very very like you, ready for the party and feeling impatient. This being dc2 being realistic, its not a party Grin however in last week, I feel like I'm walking with a bowling ball in my nether regions, my tummy button is so stretched I have hold it when I laugh, and as soon as I've been to the loo, I might as well go for a return trip!

Yes most definitely ready!!

39 weeks and feel like I've been pregnant for years. I agree with all of the above but am also fed up of hearing "haven't you had that baby yet?" . Obviously the temptation to shout back "do you see a fucking a baby?" is overwhelming but so far I've just smiled and done that "what can you do eh?" type face.

If I go overdue I won't be held responsible for any sarcastic rage.

Yup the 'haven't you had that baby?' to the 'we've been so worried' by mil (well why the flipping heck haven't you phoned - worried yeah right!) I have had enough.
Still debating whether to have a sweep at my midwife appointment tomorrow.... Its not something I relish the idea of surprisingly enough.. DS was only 3 years ago, I have no recollection if I had one or not then...

Ugh!! I no and " are you sure your not having twins?!" A very...large lady stopped me in M and S to tell me how huge I am and Iust be very uncomfortable and I'm so big I must not sleep at night...it took everything in me just to smile and nod (and not call her a fat bitch!) ...I know people mean well and I should be possative but Im I'm feeling down, the above is the last thing I want to hear!
I am looking out for any signs of labour in everything I do! I just want this baby out!!
I don't believe in any of the old wife's takes and think its all just Coincidence if they do work.

38 + 5 and it's just dawning on me that my baby is due NEXT WEEK!! My head tells me that we're about organised and I am genuinely calm at the idea of having a baby, I'm just not sure I'm totally, completely ready to do it right now.

Saying that, the baby seems to be poking my cervix with a pointy stick this evening and I'm quite looking forward to being able to get my socks and knickers on and off without a lot of huffing and puffing!

The next thing I need to decide is when to go and get waxed, in the next few days or leave it until I'm due?

monkeynumberthree · 22/11/2012 23:17

Hello, can I join in too? Smile I'm 39+4 and having been a bit rubbish about getting things organised up until now feel pretty much ready with the practical stuff (finally put sheets on the moses basket and set up the changing station today) but I don't really feel ready to stop being pregnant yet - I really love being pg, and this is our DC3 and will be our last one so I'm relishing the last few days of having a wriggly baby in my tummy! I'm sure I won't be saying that if I go over by a week or more though Grin

The main thing I'm worrying about is that we don't even have a decent shortlist for names yet - a few possibles but nothing that really grabs us...
