I had bloods done around 29 weeks, and my iron was really low - I mean it's been lower but it was 8.7.
I'm booked for a homebirth and the MWs were really concerned, they're not supposed to let you, if it's under 10.
Anyway I got some iron syrup to take, and it made me feel a bit ill, it was horrid - so I started taking Spatone from Boots, (you can get it in Asda, as well as other places) and thought, Oh my goodness, is this going to work
But it has.
I'm 33 1/2 weeks now and had bloods done yesterday and it's gone up to 9.6

I'm just so relieved! Still taking it obvs. and will continue till due, but oh it is such a relief! They kept saying, well it might not work, will you consider the tablets - and I was desperately hoping not to have to take those as I thought they would make me feel even worse.
So just some hope to those in a similar anaemic predicament. I also feel so much better now than I did a few weeks ago.
