Baby lying transverse. C section likely unless baby turns.
Should we risk turning the baby ( ECV) or not?
What have / did you do?

Your help/ thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

I had footling breech baby, turning didn't work, but gave me a horrendous headache for 2 days - I'd rather had another C section then go through another ECV!

my SIL's baby was breech and turning did work and she was fine....and so are a lot of other people

so of course it's ok to try to avoid ELSC, but if you are prone to headaches do tell them
I had bad shivering and felt really ill, they said up to 10 % can react like that to the medicine they give you to stop any womb tightenings during the procedure

also even if baby is turned successfully he/she can turn back to transverse/breech...

it really is a 50-50 chance it will work

worst case you end up with EMSC if something happens while ECV, so all things considered (other kids, future pregnancies) you can make the decision only...

I dont wish to scare you, as I have no hard evidence (only anecdotal) but I would not risk ECV.

I went straight to ELCS and refused ECV with my transverse DD (my obstetrician didn't really promote ECV). All was fine. I don't know what gestation you are but even if at term baby might still change - transverse lies are often still movin around a lot!

Pulsitilla, a homeopathic remedy might help to turn a breach baby. One of my college lecturers said it never failed her.
