I am 23 wks at the mo and been getting really sore hips and back and was thinking of trying a maternity support belt.

Has anyone used one of those and has it helped?

Where is a good place to get them?

Thanks!

If you're suffering with your back and hips ask for a physio referral. I got referred for a support belt that was be properly fitted. I got mine at 30 weeks and was given really good advice about using it. It has helped loads. I wear it for walking long distances, ironing, vacuuming etc. Anything that will put strain on my pelvis.

I agree with Kate2boys - seek a physio referral as there are several different types of support belt and they need to be fitted properly. They are expensive to buy and you won't necessarily find all of them helpful - some might make the pain worse. A good physio can also give advice on exercises that will hopefully help. I've found visits to the osteopath have been the best help of all.

i bought one from carriwell for a tenna from amazon. i tried an under bump belt first but it felt to clumpy and uncomfy so i tried their over bump band. its a similar material to magic pants and its really helped. i wear it in bed too to help with the hips. its really helped i do still wake in pain though but at least some days are good!

i also bought something called postureplast it stops you moving your back in a way which will make it hurt. it works if you put it in the right place.

My midwife recommend a Serola belt. It's a proper Physio device and it has helped me hugely.
